Biopic for a permanent exhibition, Schaffensland – People. Stories.
Carl Mand is one of several animated films created for the permanent exhibition Schaffensland at the Landesmuseum Koblenz, exploring 200 years of life and work in Rhineland-Palatinate. The exhibition tells the story of the region through the people who shaped it — their work, everyday lives and personal experiences. From rural life in the 19th century and industrialisation to modern research, tourism and global challenges, individual biographies are connected to the larger historical developments of the region. The film about Carl Mand, a piano builder from Koblenz, brings his story and his craft to life through animation. It translates historical information and personal biography into an accessible and visually engaging narrative, adding another layer to the exhibition experience.
